Pre move survey
We will visit you at home to carry out a thorough pre move survey. Our fully qualified and experienced international removals consultant will walk through the property with you. We need to do this to calculate the volume of your international removal and to see what export packing or bespoke international removal services you need.
Our international removals consultant will explain the moving process to you and work out a timescale for the move with you. We will explain what is required to ensure an efficient customs clearance process when the shipment arrives in the country you are moving to, and will let you know of any items which may be restricted or banned from gaining entry. This is also the ideal time for you to ask any questions you have about your international removals service, so it may pay to write a list of questions before we arrive at your home. Your international removals quote
Following the pre move survey, your dedicated International Removal Coordinator will prepare your overseas removals quotation. It will take in to account the specific requirements necessary to deliver your belongings to your new home in the same condition they leave your old home. We will submit a detailed move plan for your consideration and the international removals plan will be agreed with you prior to the move taking place.
Unless you request otherwise your international removals quote will be all inclusive, so we will expertly pack and prepare all items to be shipped, and send them by sea or air to the destination port or airport where our local representatives will clear them through local customs and quarantine authorities before they are delivered to your new home. There they will be unpacked, furniture will be carefully placed at you direction, cartons unpacked to flat surfaces and waste packing material removed from your new home overseas.
Professional Export Packing for
your international removal
Probably the most important ingredient in an international removals service is the way items are packed and prepared to be moved. At Momentous we only employ professional international removals crews who are fully trained and qualified to look after every aspect of your overseas removal. Our crew will bring with them an extensive range of packing materials which are needed to fully protect your belongings. The materials required are identified during the pre move survey. We will also make ply or timber crates to protect delicate or precious items, and our international removals quotation will include the cost of this service. We will prepare an inventory of all items to be moved and you will be left with a copy for your records. This document is also vital to gain clearance for the entry of your belongings when they arrive oversea, a process we manage entirely for you. Shipping and airfreight
When everything is packed and labeled, we can arrange for them to be transported. If your overseas removal is small then we will either recommend it is sent by airfreight or a sea-freight consolidation service. Either way, our International Removals Consultant will offer you guidance and advice on both the most cost effective and time efficient solution to meet your needs.
Larger international removals will be shipped in a sole use container. This is done by using either a 20 foot long of 40 foot long shipping container. If access allows, we will load your shipping container at your home. Alternatively we will take everything back to your nearest Momentous warehouse and load it from there.
When the shipment arrives
When your shipment arrives, it will need to be cleared by local authorities. The rules and regulations vary from country to country, but we will be able to advise on the specifics for your international removal. We will appoint a representative to look after this element of the move for you. Once cleared for entry they will arrange a convenient date with you to deliver and unpack your belongings.
