Pre move survey
We will visit you at home to carry out a thorough pre move survey. Our fully qualified and experienced removals consultant will walk through the property with you. We need to do this to calculate the volume of your removal and to see what removal packing or special removal services you need.
Our removals consultant will explain the moving process to you and work out a timescale for the move with you. This is also the ideal time for you to ask any questions you have about your removal service, so it may pay to write a list of questions before we arrive at your home. Your removals quote
Following the pre move survey, your dedicated Removal Coordinator will prepare your removals quotation. It will take in to account the specific requirements necessary to deliver your belongings to your new home in the same condition they leave your old home. We will submit a detailed move plan for your consideration and the removals plan will be agreed with you prior to the move taking place.
Packing for your removal
Most of our clients will want us to pack for them. We only employ professional removals crews who are fully trained and qualified to look after every aspect of your local removal. Our crew will bring with them an extensive range of packing materials which are needed to fully protect your belongings. The materials required are identified during the pre move survey. If you would prefer to do some of the packing yourself we will arrange to deliver packing materials to your home in advance of your removal. We will also make ply or timber crates to protect delicate or precious items, and our removals quotation will include the cost of this service. To emphasise the quality of the packing services Momentous can offer you, please note that we operate a fine art and antiques packing and shipping service through a specialist division of our business.
Moving Day
Our expert team will arrive at your home at a time agreed with you in advance of the move. The team leader will introduce the team to you, and will want to take a look around the property to familiarize the crew with the work to be completed. Once everything is packed it will be carefully loaded into the removals truck where it is secured for the journey to your new home. Some local removals can be completed in one day, others including all European removals will require additional days because of the size of the move or the distance to be moved. Your removals schedule will be agreed with your removal coordinator in advance, enabling you to plan around the move.
When we arrive at your new home we will unload our vehicle and install your belongings in to your new home. Furniture will be placed where you ask, and cartons will be unpacked on to flat surfaces. All used packing materials will be removed on the day, unless you specifically want to do the unpacking yourself. If you do, that's not a problem. We will simply arrange to collect the materials at a later date for a small collection charge.
Removals insurance
Whilst we take every precaution to ensure everything arrives in one piece, occasionally accidents do happen. We recommend you have adequate insurance to cover your furniture removal and we will provide a removal insurance quotation for your consideration.
